How can I post pictures on my Blogger.com page?

I recently started a blog on www.blogger.com. I've already added a layout and a profile picture. What I want to do is add more pictures to the page. I know how to add pictures in the individual posts, but how can I add them to other areas on the page? Is this even possible on blogger?

I was hoping I could add pictures on the right side of the page. If this is possible could you please tell me how? Thank you.

Go to new Blogger, there is an option to put images on your blog, you have two column layout, on right sidebar you can put pictures or slideshow from Flickr or picasa
