Changing the template on my Blogger/Blogspot blog?

I'm new to "Blogger" (or Blogspot, whatever), and I'm trying to use layouts I've downloaded, but it's not working. I've been tryng to put them in Template%26gt;Edit HTML ... is that right? It comes up with:

"Your template could not be parsed as it is not well-formed. Please make sure all XML elements are closed properly.

XML error message: The content of elements must consist of well-formed character data or markup. "

The only instructions I can find for using templates is to make sure the settings are on "Classic version", but I've been unable to find any "classic" option? Help?! :P

You went to Template%26gt;Edit HTML

On this page beneath the box where you paste the thml code is written:

Revert widget templates to default

* Revert to Classic Template

* View Classic Template

So here you are

Hope this helps
Reply:If you use classic templates in the new blogger you will lose all the new advantages like labels etc offered by the new layout templates.
Reply:try to go and see help.
